EU AgRI 2040
On 24–25 September 2026, the European Commission hosted the EU AgRI 2040 Conference in Brussels under the theme “Future-proofing EU Agri-Food through Research and Innovation.” The event brought together policymakers, researchers, farmers, businesses and innovators to discuss priorities for future European research and innovation in agriculture, forestry and rural development, with a focus on competitiveness, sustainability and resilience.
The conference provided an important opportunity to showcase innovative solutions addressing challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, sustainable resource management and the digital transformation of agriculture.
AgroApps participated in the conference with a dedicated booth, presenting the RAINS project to European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Christophe Hansen. The Commissioner visited the RAINS stand to learn about the project and its solutions for water scarcity and climate-resilient agriculture. RAINS was also mentioned in his subsequent speech, giving the project further visibility in discussions on the future of European agricultural research and innovation.
AgroApps’ participation highlighted the importance of research-driven digital solutions for improving water and nutrient management and supporting more resilient and sustainable farming systems across Europe.
By engaging directly with European policymakers and stakeholders, the RAINS project contributed to the wider conversation on how research and innovation can deliver practical solutions for the future of European agriculture.
