Launched on World Water Day 2026, the RAINS social media campaign Smart Water, Smarter Futures ran for six months, with a new post published each month to explore different aspects of water resilience in agriculture.
The campaign introduced the public to key water challenges facing Europe, including drought, water scarcity and unpredictable rainfall. Through accessible posts and visual explainers, it explored topics such as reclaimed water, smart irrigation, the benefits of more efficient water management for farmers, and the importance of safety, sustainability and supportive policies.
Each monthly post aimed to make these topics easier to understand and highlight why responsible water management matters for the future of agriculture. The series also explored how improved water management can help farmers respond to increasingly uncertain conditions.
With the first campaign now complete, RAINS will continue its communication efforts with a new series focusing on the project’s innovative solutions for more efficient water and nutrient management.
Follow RAINS on social media to keep up with the project’s latest news, activities and upcoming campaigns.
