RAINS is pleased to highlight the upcoming webinar “Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Nitrogen Management in Europe”, organised by the Global Partnership on Nutrient Management (GPNM) and the International Nitrogen Initiative (INI) as part of their joint webinar series Catalyzing Change: Global Case Studies on Sustainable Nitrogen Management.
Taking place online on Friday, 22 May 2026, the webinar will bring together leading experts from European institutions, international initiatives and research projects to discuss the latest policy perspectives, scientific developments and innovative approaches to sustainable nitrogen management across Europe.
The session will explore key topics including nutrient efficiency, ammonia emission mitigation, nitrogen-related policy developments, and the role of circular and climate-compatible nutrient management in strengthening agricultural resilience.
RAINS will be represented by Vasiliki Barou (CEIGRAM-UPM), who will present project results and insights into how innovative solutions developed through RAINS are contributing to climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable nutrient management in Mediterranean farming systems.
The webinar will feature speakers from organisations including the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), Task Force on Reactive Nitrogen (TFRN), European Nitrogen Experts Panel (EUNEP), and leading European research institutions.
